Product Description
Keep baking goods, snacks, tea bags, and coffee beans fresh and handy with this handsome set of Décor copper canisters from Old Dutch. Crafted from heavyweight copper with nickel lining, the canisters' construction is solid and durable. The foursome includes matching lids with brass loop handles and rubber liners for vacuum-sealed freshness. The vacuum seal lining is invisible once the lids are tightly fastened. To keep the pieces from tarnishing, Old Dutch lacquers the exteriors of both body and lid. The canisters hold 1, 1-1/2, 2-3/4, and 4 quarts, and nestle inside one another for storage. --Emily Bedard ....read more

Great cannisters – love copper
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
The cannisters were a gift to a friend, who loved mine.
I received mine as a gift from daughter-in-law. My friend
was thrilled.
This is a great set, insulated and tops are tight.
Thank you

Old Dutch Copper Cannisters
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I got these cannisters and was very pleased when I first took them out of the box. It didn’t take long before the problems started. They are 3 years old and look so bad I wouldn’t even put them in a garage sale. The seals are awful. The finish started wearing off very quickly. My set doesn’t sit anywhere near the stove so they weren’t exposed to anything but dust, yet still they are a mess. I wouldn’t advise these for anyone, not even to just sit and not function because the finish doesn’t last.
OK – not as nice as wished
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I bought these when we built our New House. I was really excited to beable to decorate from stratch. They were nice, but after 3 years they just look CHEAP. The finish has chipped, and in those places has tarnished, and they just don’t look like real copper. Another thing, I never felt right putting flour or sugar in the canister w/o putting it in a bag first. The lids seal well enough, but something about placing such things against the metal inside turned my stomach, it just smelled odd. Also, like most canisters you can’t even fit a 5 lb bag of sugar in the 2nd largest, which is annoying.
If I could suggest design changes, the insides should be lined, something needs to be changed with the finish, either allow it to naturally tarnish, or a more durable finish put on it, and the sizes would accomodate at least the standard sized staples.
I wish I had not waisted my money, as these are not cheap, and after 3 yrs, I think I am going to replace them with large glass jars.
Great product!!

These are a great product and a few other of there products are of high quality at least for the money.
Structurally Sound but Sensitive Finish
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My husband bought this set for me one year ago. Structurally, they are sound. However, if any water or overspray from kitchen cleaner gets on them, the finish corrodes with dark obvious spots left behind. I never had a problem with loose handles and suction is very tight. Very attractive set but be sure to keep in a dry cleaner-free environment.

Old Dutch Decor Copper Canisters, Set of 4
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Very nice set. Copper finish stays bright, easily washable. Nice look for either contemporary or country kitchen. Only drawback–some of the lids stick on very tight, a little hard to remove, may improve with time.
Cheap product

I had these canisters for a few months in my kitchen, then they started wearing – pitting, staining, – the finish simply wore off. They do not seal tightly, but keep mice and bugs out. Don’t waste your money. The photo may look good, but the product is garbage, which is where mine ended up this week!
Awful!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
These canisters are such a disappointment. They looked beautiful when I first bought them, but the finish has worn off just from sitting on my counter, and now they look terrible. I finally bought canisters after many years of not having them, and I thought these would last. But they look dreadful.
didn’t wear very well
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
They looked great for the first few months. But any hint of moisture on the bottoms made them lose their finish. The typical grease splatters and other messy situations you’ll find in a kitchen make them look bad pretty quickly. Plus, as other reviewers have mentioned, the plastic liner/seal is worthless. Don’t plan to use these as functional canisters — they’re decoration only. After a year, I threw them away. What a shame, especially because they seemed so good at the beginning.

Great customer service
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This canister set is very well made and I am very pleased with the product and its price. There was a slight finish flaw on one of the lids, contacted the Old Dutch Co., they immediately called me to varify the model and are replacing the lid. I have not had a company provide such swift customer service ever, was very impressed.
Not that bad….but not that good either!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
They look really good in my kitchen! However, the lids are not vacuum sealed as it states in the description, I had to use Ziploc bags to make sure that the coffee and tea stays fresh inside. I’ll probably just keep them for a while until they start to look ugly, then replace them with better quality ones. If you’re considering copper canisters in your kitchen, I suggest just going for the more expensive, better quality “solid copper” ones out there that you can keep for years…
Not to be confused with quality copper
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
These canisters are sort of decent, I suppose, just not anywhere near the quality I was looking for. If you’ve invested in quality copper cookware like Mauviel or Falk, don’t even think of buying these to match. The laquer coating on mine started to show signs of wear by the second month, and the bottoms had started to rust from the occasional wet countertop. The biggest one doesn’t even hold a 5lb bag of flour, so nearly worthless, in my opinion. I wish I’d saved my money. Even at $29, they are about $20 overpriced.
Good Value, If you don’t soak them in water.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have had these for over 6 months and are very satisfied. The seal is made of tough plastic and is loose on two of the canisters and too tight on the others. But it works ok. I splattered grease on one of the lids and immersed it with the dishes in hot soapy water. It soaked about ten minutes and the laquer finish turned white. It didn’t clear when dry so I had to scrub it off. The canister still looks good but now it will tarnish. I rate 4 stars for price and beauty.
The copper’s nice but the plastic isn’t.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
These copper canisters are handsome but there are some caveats needing mention. First, the so-called “vacuum-seal” stated in its description is a misnomer. There is no suctioning force to remove the air from the canisters. If the seal was actually rubber, they would have worked more easily. But this seal is a hard plastic cup-like ring that extends down from the lid to mate with the interior brim of the canister, and the lids would not function if you were to remove them like I wanted to.
Next Problem: The lids again-now they’re too tight! I have to hold the canister against my chest to pull it off–not convenient. This means the contents of the canister might jerk up and out when it pops open. Quirkiness given, it should still keep the bugs out better than any loose ceramic set.
The company is named Old Dutch, but these are made in China… (not the Netherlands.)
Additionally, the canisters have no labeling like “Sugar” or “Flour” or a designated place for a label–another inconvenience. Brass labels would have added character.
For the 40 dollars, these 4 copper cans will still function and sit pretty no matter where you put them. And, if you want them mostly for that, with just some occasional use, you have found an eligible set.
Vacum seal lining broken
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Got my canisters yesterday. They look great, however the vacuum seal on of the canister was broken. They did a poor job in packing the canister for shipping. The vacuum sealant is broken into chips and looks brittle. Shipping the canisters back for replacement. Although the sealant looks brittle and may not last long, still for the price it is a good buy.
Great Gift
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a great gift to buy, especially for a wedding shower. No one thinks of this item to give as a gift. Copper goes with everything. It also has very tight lids. Great item.
I love these canisters!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought these canisters a few years ago. They are by far the best and prettiest canisters I’ve seen. I have no problem keeping them clean. They seal great. The rubber seal hasn’t broken down like I’ve had other canisters do. I have some very flavorful tea that has eaten the seals on other canisters and it hasn’t eaten the seal on these. And the smell of the tea doesn’t leak.
Great Surprise!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
When I ordered these I was a bit hesitant;what the heck, I can use them for show. To my surprise not only are these beautiful, but very functional. Great seals on the lids to air lock contents. But the beauty; believe me you will be proud to display these on your kitchen counter. Enjoy!!!
Handle Broke
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
The cannisters look great and are easy to keep clean. However, three months after I bought them the handle on the second largest one broke off while I was opening it. Amazon won’t accept a return and, so far, I have been unable to locate the manufacturer to see if they will replace it.
Great copper canisters!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
These canisters look great with my Italian copper pans! They look like they cost many times this very low price. They are lined with what is probably nickel, and the lids are lined with a dark sturdy plastic that creates a very tight seal. The handles on top are brass. It is not necessary to worry about the laquer finish on the copper with these since food doesn’t touch the copper anyway. I have had these for quite a while & they still look brand new.
yummy copper

Got em, was expecting lesser quality for some reason, these are beautiful, not a scratch on them, highly polished and the lids have a rubber gasketing to seal them better when closed. Love em!
